On November 29th, I had the privilege of being part of something truly special—Creating Change, a group exhibition held in partnership with Movember. The event aimed to raise funds for mental health awareness, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. As someone who has struggled with severe anxiety and depression—experiences that once led me to contemplate taking my own life—this exhibition was an opportunity to not only share my personal story but also to help break the stigma surrounding mental health, especially among men.

A Personal Journey

This exhibition wasn’t just about showcasing art—it was about creating a space where people could come together, talk openly, and feel supported. For me, the journey to this event was deeply personal. The challenges I’ve faced with my mental health shaped not only the work I create but also my passion to raise awareness. I wanted this event to be more than just a night of art; I wanted it to be a catalyst for change, encouraging people to open up about their own struggles and to seek help without fear of judgment.

The Exhibition and The Artists

Creating Change brought together 35 incredible artists from across Australia, each contributing their work to support the cause. The energy at The Nook Gallery in Mornington was electric, with an array of thought-provoking pieces that sparked conversation and inspired reflection. It was amazing to see so many talented artists coming together for such an important cause.

Throughout the evening, guests were treated to live music, food, drinks, and the chance to engage with the art and the artists. A silent auction was held, with some of the works available for bidding, and there were prints, merchandise, and other prizes for sale. Every purchase and bid helped raise money for Movember’s mental health programs, which work to improve mental health support for men around the world.

Raising $2,640 for Mental Health

Thanks to the incredible support from everyone who attended and participated, I’m proud to share that Creating Change raised $2,640 for mental health awareness. The money raised will go towards initiatives that provide crucial resources for men struggling with their mental health, helping to create a safer, more supportive environment for those who need it most.

The event wasn’t just a one-night celebration—it’s a stepping stone toward long-term change. While our goal was to raise $10,000, the success of the night demonstrated the power of community and the importance of continuing to fight for better mental health support.

A Huge Thank You

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, and helped make the event possible. Your support means the world to me and to everyone affected by mental health challenges. Whether it was purchasing art, bidding on auction items, or simply showing up to be part of the conversation, you’ve contributed to making a lasting impact.

Thank you again to the 35 amazing artists who shared their work, the incredible team at Movember for their dedication to mental health, and everyone who helped bring this event to life. The fight to break the stigma around mental health continues, and I’m beyond grateful to be part of a community that is committed to creating change.

Here’s to many more opportunities to come together, raise awareness, and make a difference.
