This is Jaxx. Jaxx drifts through life feeling detached from the world around him, constantly carrying the feeling of being alienated. He stands there like he belongs nowhere, caught between wanting freedom and wanting direction, searching for someone to take him to his driver, someone who can finally show him where he belongs. Instead of facing that emptiness, he hides behind a rebellious and carefree attitude, bending rules and pretending not to care where life is taking him.
The pink streets surrounding Jaxx represent comfort within chaos. The colours were inspired by a pink bush I saw during one of my darkest days, a small moment that unexpectedly brought me peace and calm. Since then, pink has become my comfort colour, symbolising the quiet sense of escape and reflection Jaxx searches for while drifting through a world where he feels out of place.
Through Jaxx, this piece explores alienation, identity, and the feeling of being misunderstood and out of place. Beneath the surreal imagery and vibrant colours is a character searching for belonging while pretending he is fine being lost.
Don’t be like Jaxx.
